Value: $15m
Year: 2012
Area: 3,000 sq.m office, workshops, vehicle store
Role: Project Manager/ Design Manager
Responsibilities: Liz’s role on this project was Project Manager, overseeing a team of architects, engineers and specialist consultants. She worked on the project from inception, through briefing, Development Application and to the Tender Phase.
Project description: The project was derived from recommendations from the TransGrid Regional Accommodation Report in 2011, which identified major upgrades to 4 regional centres: Newcastle, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga and Sydney West. The projects at Sydney West and Tamworth were undertaken simultaneously by this project team.
The challenge at the Tamworth site was a requirement to remain fully operational while a completely new facility and sub-station was constructed. The final staging program included careful considerations of construction staging, decommissioning and demolition of buildings and major sub-stations, removal of contamination, and decanting of personnel.
Following approval on the Master Plan and Design Brief, a building project scope was developed through to Tender Phase. The final project scope included new facilities:
- Office building, workshop and vehicle store of 2,600 sq.m
- Oil processing, battery store and chemical store of 700 sqm
- Hardstand of 3-4,000 sq.m
