Project Description: AirServices Australia required consolidation of their ageing Melbourne compound, into a new purpose-built facility. The project required development of a long term Melbourne Master Plan that would allow for staging of development and demolition, and maximise flexibility for future growth. The Master Plan rationalises existing buildings and parking, which are spread across the large site, proposes a new facility, rationalises circulation and entries and provides external courtyard amenity.
The TAS Business Unit manages technical and asset support for systems, facilities and communications infrastructure. Development of a detailed facilities brief and concept design resulted in a proposal for a new 2 storey building including 4,300sq.m of commercial and technical workshops. The new two storey building houses the entire (TAS) Business Unit, provide support to the adjacent refurbished workshops, include flexible work areas, and promote relationships between internal and external spaces.
