ARCHITECTURAL DOCUMENTATION introduces students to the processed of Development Applications and Building Certification. Students work on a medium scale residential project through the semester – Anne St Garden Villas Project by Anna O’Gorman Architects.

Students undertake three assessments:

  • 01 | Examination – Students are assessed on theory related to Town Planning, Development Application and Building Certification processes.
  • 02 | Development Application – Group work to prepare a presentation that investigates, evaluates, specifies, and details a range of set product selections and construction details.  These are assessed with reference to given criteria of performance/function, costs, environment, and aesthetic outcomes.
  • 03 | Construction Documentation – Individual work to research, prepare and present a set of documents at a level that would be expected for lodgement of a building application (BA) for a small to medium sized project. Students take a portion of the concept design project from Assessment 1 and develop a reduced scope, BA documentation set.  Documentation incorporates decisions about detailing, materials and services.
